Men’s Ministry

The Wesleyan Men’s Ministry is a Christ-centered fellowship dedicated to developing men of faith, character, and purpose. Our mission is to equip and encourage men to grow spiritually, serve faithfully, and lead courageously in their homes, churches, and communities. We believe that when men are grounded in God’s Word and guided by His Spirit, they become powerful agents of change in the world around them.

Our ministry provides a safe and supportive environment where men can connect, share experiences, and strengthen one another through prayer, mentorship, and accountability.

We host monthly conferences and gatherings that focus on both spiritual and practical growth. These sessions address real-life challenges such as balancing faith and family, managing finances with integrity, maintaining emotional and mental well-being, and building stronger relationships based on Christian principles. Through the insight of guest speakers, faith leaders, and professionals, we aim to empower men to grow holistically spiritually, personally, and professionally.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that strong men build strong families, and strong families build strong churches and communities. By promoting unity, faith, and service, we strive to cultivate a spirit of brotherhood where men uplift one another, hold each other accountable, and model godly leadership in every area of life. Through compassion, service, and steadfast faith, the Wesleyan Men’s Ministry seeks to make a lasting impact for God’s Kingdom.

Our Gatherings Include

  • Prayer meetings and devotionals to deepen our relationship with God.
  • Outreach events that demonstrate Christ’s love in action.
  • Men’s retreats, workshops, and fellowship events that promote unity, reflection, and renewal.

This ministry is led by Brother Ritz Joseph, whose commitment to discipleship and service continues to inspire men to walk boldly in faith and lead with Christlike integrity.

Children Ministry

The PWCP Children’s Ministry, led by Esther Isaac, serves to equip our children with all the building blocks they need to have a strong foundation in and understanding of God and His love. We offer programs for children ages 3 through 14. We work to create a safe environment for the children to learn about Jesus and have fun doing it! Children’s Church, a weekly Sunday service targeted for our children, meets every Sunday at 11am and runs concurrently with the church’s main worship service.

They experience age-appropriate lessons that teach them about God and His love for them. The teaching is interactive and utilizes multiple approaches for different learning styles. The children also participate in arts and crafts, music, prayer time, and games and receive a tasty snack. Our goal is for the kids to understand who Jesus is and how He can make a difference in their lives.

Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry at Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Philadelphia is devoted to guiding believers into a deeper experience of God’s presence and power through prayer. Rooted in a passion for intercession and a commitment to Christ, the ministry emphasizes that prayer is essential for transformation, both in personal lives and within the church community.

Grounded in the truth of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 — “Pray without ceasing,” the ministry encourages believers to cultivate a consistent and intimate prayer life. Its mission is to build a strong community of faith where individuals can draw closer to God, find hope in His promises, and stand together in unity as they pray for the needs of the church, families, and the world.

Through its ongoing efforts, the Prayer Ministry remains a place where lives are touched, hearts are strengthened, and God’s presence is continually made known.

Evangelism Ministry

The Evangelism Ministry at Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Philadelphia is dedicated to sharing the message of salvation and the love of Christ with the community. With a focus on outreach and compassion for souls, the ministry seeks to inspire believers to fulfill the Great Commission by reaching the lost and demonstrating God’s love through action.

Grounded in Mark 16:15 — “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” the ministry encourages believers to live out their faith boldly and to bring hope to those in need of Christ’s saving grace. Through its ongoing efforts, the Evangelism Ministry continues to shine as a light in the community, drawing others to Jesus.

Community Outreach Ministry

  • Free coat drives
  • Food and resource support
  • Community assistance initiatives

Whether offering warm coats in winter, providing health resources, or offering a helping hand, our goal is to reflect Christ’s compassion in real and meaningful ways.

Bible Club Ministry

The Pilgrim Wesleyan Church Bible Club Ministry is a dynamic and interactive forum where members gather along with guest speakers to explore and discuss thought-provoking topics from the Word of God. Designed in a “debate-style format”, this ministry encourages open dialogue, critical thinking, and active participation from all attendees.

Each session focuses on a selected biblical theme or passage, inviting participants to share their perspectives, ask questions, and gain deeper insight through healthy, respectful discussion. By addressing common misunderstandings and differing interpretations, the Bible Club equips believers to strengthen their biblical knowledge, grow spiritually, and develop a clearer understanding of God’s truth.

Our mission is to cultivate a community of believers who are confident in studying, interpreting, and applying Scripture in their daily lives while fostering unity, spiritual growth, and mutual respect through shared learning in the Word of God.

This ministry was founded and is directed by Brother Ritz Joseph, whose vision and dedication continue to inspire meaningful study, fellowship, and spiritual maturity within our church community.

Sunday School Ministry

The Sunday School Ministry at Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Philadelphia, led by Sister Carole Louidor, is dedicated to teaching and nurturing spiritual growth in children, youth, and adults. With a focus on Christian education and a commitment to serving God’s people, the ministry strives to make the Word of God come alive in every classroom.

Guided by Proverbs 22:6 — “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” the ministry emphasizes faith, wisdom, and compassion in its approach to teaching. Through its ongoing efforts, the Sunday School Ministry continues to build strong foundations in the Word, inspiring students of all ages to grow in their relationship with Christ and live out their faith daily.

Fundraising Ministry

The Fundraising Team is committed to developing innovative social activities and events designed to motivate church and community members to support the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Philadelphia, its ministries, and various causes and initiatives. In the past, the Fundraising Team has collaborated with the Outreach Ministry to donate clothes, canned goods, and perishable items to those in need, both domestically and internationally.

Namely, the Bethesda School of Raymond in Jacmel, Haiti, is one of our largest recipients. Through the grace of God, we have been blessed with fundraising success; however, continuous support is still necessary to help maintain the needs of these children. If interested in offering a donation, please reach out to Sister Marie Laguerre (Fundraising Coordinator) or Pastor Roland Barthelemy at (215) 927-1918. Monetary gifts of any size are always welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Media Ministry

The Media Ministry works to promote the Word of God being shared at PWCP through various audio/video channels and social media platforms. Through the use of technology, our goal is to make the Gospel available to all of God’s people by meeting them where they are (digitally). Weekly Sunday services are live streamed on our church's website and can also be viewed on the PWC Philly YouTube channel. For updates on all of our activities, please follow us on our Facebook Instagram and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
